Interference

Sun outages

The Sun can interfere with satellite signals when it falls directly behind a satellite which is communicating with a user on the ground. This effect is typically caused a "Sun outage," and commonly affects geostationary satellites, including GPS. The timing of Sun outages depend on the location of the user and orbit of the satellite.

Starlink service is not affected by Sun outages. At any given time, the Starlink have multiple satellites in view. The Starlink will connect to a satellite that is not interfered by the Sun.
